About Leo

I arrived at the healing arts by way of the martial arts. Training in self defense has been a northern star for much of my life. I’ve also been dealt a few injuries along the way, which led me to massage therapy - first as a client, then as a practitioner. I have been honing my skill as a practicing massage therapist since 2013, and am grateful to have found a passion for helping others pursue their own wellness goals.

Around the time I started massage school, I also began coming to terms with my gender. I feel lucky that I was able to navigate these two paths simultaneously. Personally, I learned a lot of self-acceptance through all the bodywork I gave and received during massage school. As a practitioner, I gained a perspective on bodywork, compassion, and what it means to be human that I doubt I would have found otherwise. Ultimately, living in a body is a strange experience, and none of us feels at home there all the time. But despite this lack of ease, we can all still cultivate a connection with our body and ourselves over time. Receiving massage is one excellent way to practice bringing our awareness to an internal experiencing of the body. The more time we spend there, the more healing can happen.
