How I work

The massage:

I approach bodywork as an attentive listener, and engage my clients in collaboration on the path towards healing. I aim to provide emotionally intelligent, client-centered, body-positive, and trauma-aware bodywork, as well as to make LGBTQIA-safe and trans-affirming bodywork available to the local community. I’ve been refining my practice for over ten years, and am adept at blending various massage modalities according to each client's needs.

Relaxation massage sessions typically consist of flowing techniques, assisted stretching, and unrushed deep tissue work to help reduce stress, muscle tension, and pain, while also improving circulation and overall well-being. Well-delivered relaxation massage is also an excellent way to calm your nervous system and reconnect with your body.

Therapeutic work might further include myofascial release, and/or cross-fiber friction techniques. Myofascial release helps to dissolve adhesions in the fascia, and to lengthen shortened tissue. Targeted cross-fiber frictioning helps eliminate painful, adhesive scar tissue in ligaments, tendons, and muscles, and also stimulates a fresh healing response in chronically injured tissue. This type of work streamlines and optimizes the body’s natural healing process, and with regular application, the eventual results can be lasting and quite transformative.

Everything else:

Sink onto a comfortable massage table with optional table heat, covered with fresh linens and a cozy blanket. I strive to provide a peaceful space, with background music to your liking: anything from relaxing ambient sound to instrumental hip hop - or whatever music you might want to bring along to your session.

I tailor all aspects of our work together - pressure, pace, draping, bolstering, etc. - to your comfort at all times. I will check in with you before every session to see what is important for you to focus on. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and help you reach your wellness goals!
